Change a Folder Icon in Vista

 

 Step 1
Locate a folder on your computer that has an icon you want to change. Right-click on the folder and select the "Properties" option from the drop-down menu. The "Properties" option should be the last option listed.


Step 2
Click on the "Customize" tab in the "Properties" screen. Select the "Change Icon..." button at the bottom of the window.


Step 3
Browse through the available icons to choose a new icon for your folder. You can select icons located in other areas of your computer by clicking on the "Browse" option and searching for the file. Select an icon by clicking on the icon once and clicking the "OK" button at the bottom of the window. Click "OK" under the "Properties" window to finalize the changes and close the "Properties" window.
